Minimum Requirements for Admission
- 3.0 nursing science GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- 3.0 prerequisite GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- 75% HESI score in each section
Additional Considerations
- Timed verbal responses and written assessments (through our secondary assessment provider, Kira Talent)
- Community service
- Leadership and involvement in extracurricular and/or professional activities
- Military service
- Regional residency
- History of academic withdrawals, repeats or failures
To apply, submit your:
- NursingCAS application, including:
- Official college transcripts from each institution (including Texas A&M University, if applicable)
- HESI Admissions Assessment exam scores (official test report must be received by the College of Nursing to be eligible; an official report is not needed from those who test through Texas A&M)
- Online verbal and written assessments through our secondary assessment provider, Kira Talent (eligible applicants will be sent invitations to complete this portion following review of their NursingCAS application)
- International applicant credentials (if applicable)
If you’re an external applicant:
- External applicants are required to pay an additional application fee directly to Texas A&M Admissions. Once an application is submitted, admissions will determine whether the applicant is classified as external. This includes:
- Applicants not currently enrolled at Texas A&M
- Current Texas A&M students who are not registering for either the fall or spring semester prior to the start of nursing classes
- Current Texas A&M students who will complete their first bachelor’s degree by the first day of classes
- You'll receive access to the AIS (Applicant Information System) within 48–72 hours after submitting your NursingCAS application. All associated Texas A&M fees must be paid before the College of Nursing can proceed with the application review.
- Do not send transcripts to AIS. The system will show transcript items as incomplete, which is expected but does not affect your review.
- Fee waivers may be available for qualified applicants.
An offer of admission is conditional pending successful completion of all prerequisite coursework and fulfillment of certain compliance requirements.
